November 8, 2015

Online registration is now closed. You can register in person at Spokesman Bicycles on Saturday from 1 - 5 or at the race from 7 to 8 on race day.

Held in conjunction with the Surf City Aquathlon

The triathlon event is now going to be an aquathlon event in a swim-run format only. There will not be any changes to the half marathon course exeption the starting location that will be moved down to the beach area, and an option to start either in the run start at 9:30 or do a time trial start with an friend or family member doing the aquathlon. The new start and finish location for the run course are on the course page.

What do you do when you have a classic long course triathlon and a lot of time between when the bikes leave transition and the runners go out on the course?  Well, you don't let all that course set up just sit there waiting for some action...you create an event for runners who want participate in their own half marathon, minus the swim and bike!

This is for you if:

Everyone doing the half marathon gets their own unique shirt and finisher medal.  You get to participate in the finish line party and cheer in the triathletes or wait for your favorite triathlete to finish.

This is a great place to try your first half marathon with lots of support and great spectator support.

The run will start in the plaza in Depot Park, adjacent to the transition area.  You will follow the same run course as the long course triathletes to complete your 13.1 mile run and finish on the beach in front of the Dream Inn by the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf.

Age group awards in 10 year increments: Under 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
