You'll swim 1500 meters (two loops) at Cowell Beach adjacent to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, right next to the famous Steamer Lane surf area and the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf.

After your swim you'll run down the sidewalk by the National Marine Sanctuary Center, and on a trail into Depot Park, then hop on your bike for a 24.8 mile ride ( 4 loops) out to the West Side of Santa Cruz. You will turn right at Bay Street and make a loop around the block to get onto West Cliff and ride along West Cliff Drive to Swanton, go up Swanton, make a U-Turn at Swanton and Delaware to go back to West Cliff Drive. At Bay and West Cliff you will loop around the block and merge back onto West Cliff Drive. You will make FOUR

loops of the bike course before returning to transition.

Surfer MuseumAt the end of your bike ride you'll return to Depot Park and run up West Cliff Drive past the Surfer Museum at Lighthouse Point and along West Cliff Drive to a turnaround point before returning to the Depot Park.

The finish line will be located in Depot Park and you'll be able to relax and refuel and visit the vendors at the post race expo.

The awards ceremony will take place in the plaza area at Depot Park.

USAT Sanct


All of our multisport events are USAT Sanctioned.

Sanctioning requires that each participant is either an annual member or purchases a one-day membership.

Annual Adult Membership Rates are $50.

The One-Day rate is $15.
